Hey Empty Set Community. If you have no idea what ESS is please refer to a previous newsletter, and this video explainer which explains what V2 (even though it says V1.5). You can (should) also read the Medium article written by the ESS, and the article from Lewis Freiberg introducing the two new tokens. Todays update will be all about integrations: Polygon, Quickswap, Sablier, and Curve.
Integrations
The teams working on Empty Set Share have been hard at work getting ESS and DSU integrated across DeFi. As stable coins continue to face the threat of regulation, DSU is well positioned to to service the DeFi market.
Polygon
DSU and ESS are live on Polygon. Polygon, formerly known as the Matic Network, is a scaling solution that aims to provide multiple tools to improve the speed and reduce the cost and complexities of transactions on blockchain networks. In a nutshell, Polygon bills itself as a layer-2 network, meaning it acts as an add-on layer to Ethereum that does not seek to change the original blockchain layer. Here is a video explainer on bridging your MetaMask to the Polgyon Network. We are currently working on creating a liquidity pairing.
Quickswap
Quickswap integration is live and we are working to add liquidity. QuickSwap is a set of smart contracts that enables people to submit buy or sell orders for cryptocurrencies via your browser without signing up or providing any personal information. If you choose to go ahead with a trade on QuickSwap, your browser-based wallet (for example: MetaMask) will send the tokens you are selling to a QuickSwap smart contract and it will fill your order if someone else is selling the tokens that you want in return. If the order is filled, it will send the tokens you opted to trade for to your wallet (the same one used to send the tokens you’re selling.) For more on how to use Quickswap, click here.
Sablier
You can now get paid by your employer in DSU! Their interface allows you to set up a streaming payment contract for employers and employees. This means that if you and your employer would like to negotiate pay in crypto currency, you can! As an employee you don’t have to spend time and fees transferring fiat into crypto. As en employer you have a much better, safer, smoother, and cheaper way of doing pay roll.
As the crypto world becomes more and more integrated with the real world, there will be increased demand for payroll systems that allow for employers to pay their employees in the crypto of their choice. One of those currencies is now DSU. For more information on Sablier, click here.Arbitrum
Arbitrum integration is live. Arbitrum is a system which allows Ethereum participants to settle their transactions away from the Ethereum mainnet. Arbitrum uses a technique known as transaction rollups to record batches of submitted transactions on the Ethereum main chain, and execute them on a cheap, scalable layer 2 sidechain while leveraging Ethereum to ensure correct results. To bridge assets to Abritrum, use this link.
Curve
SN2 is in the process of a Curve integration. This requires 2500 veCRV votes and then we will need the community to help whip votes to obtain CRV rewards. We anticipate no issue in the proposal passing. Curve is a decentralized exchange optimized for low slippage and low fee swaps between assets pegged to the same value. Curve is an automated market maker that operates similarly to Balancer, relying on liquidity pools and rewarding those who fund the pools, except it only deals with stablecoins (e.g., DAI, TUSD, sUSD, GUSD, bUSD, USDC, etc.). For this reason, it can be useful to crypto users seeking to swap stablecoins, traders looking for arbitrage opportunities, and liquidity providers who earn trading and interest fees. It also offers an incentivizing boost mechanism for users to lock in their token holdings for up to four years, allowing them to earn more on their liquidity and receive more in trading fees.
